As we age, the rate at which the cells in our skin renew and turnover slows down significantly, which is also exacerbated by certain lifestyle choices, such as a poor-quality diet, inadequate hydration, excessive & unprotected sun exposure, as well as airborne pollutants.
The reduction in cell turnover and renewal results in a dull, lacklustre and rough skin in appearance, whereby the appearance of pores and facial wrinkles may seem more noticeable, and skin may be more prone to congestion and breakouts. Chemical exfoliation is an anti-ageing corrective and preventative method of treating skin on the face neck and body, which has been in use for thousands of years. Many different types of ingredients can be used to effectively target specific concerns, such as hyperpigmentation, oiliness/breakouts, signs of photo damage (large pores/coarse skin), as well as delivering a variety of anti-ageing benefits, such as strengthening elastin and renewing collagen production.
The ZO® Stimulator Peel is regarded as the ultimate red-carpet lunchtime peel. It has been designed to suit all skin types by improving the skin tone and texture, with the added benefit of no downtime, and advanced anti-ageing benefits. Visible improvements are often seen immediately following the peel. It combines powerful and multi-tasking ingredients, such as, citric, glycolic and lactic acid, to provide epidermal exfoliation and renewal. Over a course of treatments, this unique peel can be customised according to skin type and indication(s) to be treated to deliver a truly bespoke experience. The peel is often combined with our award-winning Dermalux LED phototherapy to enhance the treatment outcomes and give lasting regenerative benefits that are sustained after the treatment is complete for the ultimate glow.
The peel has a mild warmth and tingle, which can continue for short period of time following the treatment. This usually resolves within 24 hours. Post treatment skin care will be tailored and applied according to skin type and preference, which is soothing and calming, and includes SPF protection.
All patients will undertake a detailed medical consultation and assessment of their areas of concern. This allows us to approximate the number of treatments based upon the expected level of improvement, as well as the baseline condition of the area(s) to be treated. It is generally recommended that 1 peel is performed each week, for a total of 1 month (4 peels in total). For best results, 4 treatments may be necessary, with 1 treatment performed each week. With consent, baseline photos will be captured to gauge the gradual and progressive improvement in the skin.
Yes-these are explained to you in detail during your initial consultation, as well as on the day of treatment. We advise patients to withhold from any vigorous exercise, gym & sauna for 24 hours following treatment, as well as abstaining from alcohol for 24 hours, and to commence daily use of a broad spectrum (UVA & UVB) spf 30 (or above) long-term. It is important to avoid direct sun exposure, prior to, and following the peel. If skin is actively tanned on the day of treatment, it will not be possible to proceed with treatment due to the risk of adverse events, but this will be discussed further at the time of the consultation. A customised and individualised skin care regimen will be discussed and recommended.
Yes, absolutely! A bespoke skincare regimen is recommended alongside maintenance peels. The number and frequency of peels can be discussed in more detail during your consultation. Chemical peels can deliver excellent cumulative benefits when maintained over time, with results that continue to improve.
