Hipex

It is estimated that 1 in 7 women may suffer with urinary incontinence. Many people can experience occasional leaks of urine & some experience this on a more regular basis. It can potentially affect women (and men) of any age.

This may be partly attributed to underlying medical conditions, and may be temporary or permanent. There are a number of known triggers and causes of temporary & permanent incontinence. Some of these may include bladder-stimulating foods, drinks & medications, such as alcohol, caffeine, chilli pepper, sugary food, blood pressure & heart medication, muscle relaxants & high doses of vitamin C. Other causes can include urinary tract infections, which irritate the bladder, pregnancy and childbirth, ageing, neurological disorders, such as MS, Stroke & Parkinson’s Disease. Women can be more likely to suffer from stress incontinence due to pregnancy, childbirth & menopause. Men with prostate problems are more likely to suffer urge or overflow incontinence. A family history of urinary incontinence as well as being overweight are also contributory factors, along with smoking. It is thought that approximately 10% of the U.K. population can suffer from urinary incontinence, although this statistic may be higher due to under reporting/under treating. The cost to the NHS is thought to be close to £2 billion annually.

High-intensity pelvic exercise stimulates muscles without discomfort or downtime. Intense focused electromagnetic fields strengthen & support the pelvic floor. HIPEX triggers targeted muscle contractions in the pelvic floor, and 1 session on the CM Slim HIPEX Chair is the equivalent of thousands of Kegel exercises. HIPEX triggers muscle contractions at a rate not possible through physical exercise. As a result, the pelvic floor muscle adapts to this stress by becoming stronger. The stronger re-conditioned muscles lift & support the bladder.

Frequently asked questions

There is minimal discomfort throughout this short & non-invasive treatment.

All patients who visit Ann Baker Aesthetics will undertake a detailed medical consultation and assessment based on their areas of concern. This allows us to approximate the number of treatments based upon the expected level of improvement. Patients can expect to require a course of between 6-8 treatments for optimum results, with 2-3 sessions a week.
These will be fully discussed with you at your time of treatment.
At Anna Baker Aesthetic Clinic, our key priority is the safety of our patients, and we generally advise for different aesthetic treatments to be spaced apart. Whilst HIPEX is a safe and proven treatment for many indications, we generally do not advise patients to undergo this treatment on the same area as another procedure on the same day, however, this can be discussed and assessed on an individual basis

Yes, absolutely! Individual results vary, and in terms of the required number of maintenance treatments required, this is determined on an individual basis, and discussed at your consultation.
