]]>Amidst the plethora of brands available, I exclusively use a premium, meticulously purified product in my clinic. This formulation is rigorously licensed for medical applications, ensuring optimal quality and efficacy in every treatment, called PhilArt by Croma Pharma.
Polynucleotides are an exciting new regenerative skin treatment offering a comprehensive solution for a myriad of concerns across the face, neck, and body. From combating dullness, and coarse texture, to addressing wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, under-eye dark circles, acne scarring, stretch marks, as well as some types of surgical scarring, this innovative approach taps into the transformative potential of DNA and RNA.
Derived from meticulously purified DNA fragments sourced from salmon or trout sperm, polynucleotides offer a remarkable similarity to humans DNA. Meeting stringent safety, as well as high purification standards, their production undergoes rigorous regulation and sterilisation. Extracting all protein molecules minimises allergy risks. Extensively researched and clinically proven, polynucleotides stimulate cell receptors to catalyse various regenerative processes within the skin.

When used in combination, the results are truly amplified but remain natural and undetectable. Combined approaches are widely accepted to effectively target a number of anti-ageing concerns and their underlying causes, as each individual modality treats specific concerns.
There are many causative factors of ageing, which is why we encourage and plan a combined and personalised treatment journey for our patients, adapted to individual results. Some of my favourite combined regenerative approaches for the face, neck, and body include Profhilo, polynucleotides, Hydropeptide (epigenetic peptide skincare), Dermalux LED phototherapy, and the recent introduction of exosomes.
It’s a truly exciting time for medical aesthetic treatments in achieving the most natural and lasting results.

]]>In January I was invited to present at IMCAS conference in Paris by IBSA (the Pharmaceutical company who manufacture Profhilo among other products). I was asked to present the U.K. experience of training and using Profhilo Body in practice and share case study examples to international distributors. It was an incredible opportunity, and I have attended this international conference annually for many years.
I have also recently visited Australia in February. I was invited by the Australian distributor for Profhilo to present to Medical Practitioners at a number of aesthetic conferences across Sydney on the U.K experiences of using and training Profhilo and Profhilo Body with case study examples. I shared the U.K journey with Profhilo since 2016, to present day, discussing the cumulative benefits of long-term maintenance, and how the distributor training has evolved with experience.
It was an absolutely incredible opportunity, which I was proud to be part of on behalf of the U.K. faculty for Ha-Derma who have exclusive distribution for IBSA’s injectable product portfolio. There are more exciting trips scheduled for the next few months-More details to be revealed soon-Watch this space! Until then, my travel for Profhilo and IBSA injectable trainings continues more locally to Scotland, Bristol, London, Belfast & Dublin.
Spring is often a popular time of year to refresh and revitalise tired and lacklustre skin-especially after the winter months. This is a great time of year to step up exfoliants, or to introduce a type of exfoliation into a regimen. Many ingredients are gentle and multitasking and deliver gentle brightening among many other benefits. Other treatments, such as Profhilo, are popular options all year round, but during spring where skin is often thirsty for revival, Profhilo offers a natural but noticeable skin pick me up as the ultimate undetectable injectable.
Other popular treatments at this time of year are lunchtime (light) chemical peels to immediately rejuvenate skin, with no downtime. Dermalux LED phototherapy is one of my favourite regenerative and well-being treatments, and can be combined with all other procedures. Forma radiofrequency is a popular option to tighten and spritz skin ready for spring. This is a lunchtime pick me up for skin that delivers visible firmness that can often be seen immediately, and continues to improve over a course of treatment.
One of my new favourite products that I am delighted to introduce alongside the award winning Dermalux LED light therapy is the Hydropeptide Moisture Infusion Mask. This phenomenal hydrogel mask can enhance the performance of LED light treatments and provide superior penetration of the active ingredients into the skin and is suitable for all skin types.
This multitasking mask contains the following ingredients:
Argireline-A wrinkle relaxing peptide which helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles
Collagen & elastin boosting peptides to restore firmness & smoothness to skin
Brightening Nanopeptide to help reduce hyperpigmentation
Hyaluronic acid for essential skin hydration
Antioxidant Botanical blend to protect skin from free radical damage & help to reduce #inflammaging
Both of these outstanding treatments will bring out the best of any procedure, or skincare regimen.
I’m also delighted to be discussing the science & benefits of LED phototherapy alongside Dr Neil Kitchen who will be sharing his expertise on combining LED with cosmeceutical ingredients at Wigmore Presents Conference on the 29th of April.

]]>Seasonal indulgences can take their toll on us in many ways-Not just around our waistline!
In January, we often notice that the skin on our face and body feels dry, seems hungry for moisture, and looks dull in appearance. The good news is that there are many affordable and simple solutions to reclaim our glow, and to restore a firmer and healthier skin.
I am kicking off this month with some exciting new combined treatment packages which are focused on restoring optimum skin health using cutting edge technologies. I am delighted to now be offering a brand new Dermalux LED system-the Dermalux Compact Lite which can treat a variety of medical concerns, such as psoriasis and musculoskeletal discomfort, in addition to many other aesthetic conditions, such as breakouts, hyperpigmentation & fine lines/wrinkles. This ground-breaking & powerfully gentle treatment is also able to improve symptoms associated with SAD (seasonal affective disorder). The Dermalux Blue 415nm wavelength is also clinically proven to boost wellbeing and is a particularly beneficial standalone treatment for this common concern at this time of year.
I am proud to be offering the gold standard in laser treatments from Lynton. The Motus AY laser is not only a world leading device in hair removal, but is highly effective in skin rejuvenation, or what’s known as ‘Photorejuvenation’. This treatment improves skin texture and tone to reveal smoother and softer tactile benefits, whilst reducing pore size, and delivering an overall improvement in signs of ageing, improving fine lines/wrinkles, as well as restored firmness to skin. These results are evident over a course of treatments scheduled at monthly intervals. Typically, 4-6 treatments are required, with maintenance treatments recommended as often as necessary to give the best results long-term.
Profhilo is the ultimate treatment to tighten, hydrate and restore a natural luminosity to skin on the face, neck and body. This unique & award-winning technology delivers an extremely high & pure concentration of hyaluronic acid through the 3 main layers of the skin and regenerates 4 different types of collagen, as well as renewed elastin. An initial course of 2-3 treatments are required with a 1 month interval, which can then be maintained at either 3-4 months with a single treatment, or at 6 months with 2 treatments spaced 1 month apart.
A combination of these 3 treatments is the ultimate winter package to achieve natural and beautiful results. Contact me to arrange a consultation for this advanced cellular anti-ageing package.

]]>On this note, a refreshingly honest and realistic article that I’ve recently come across in @glamouruk discusses one of the most common skin concerns that we see in practice-large/open pores. The truth is, that all of us have pores on our face, which are usually visible. The variety of filters often used on social media may portray an unrealistic and airbrushed skin surface as idealistic. Pores have a number of important functions and benefits, through allowing sebaceous glands to secrete oil through the pore, and many house the opening of hair follicles.
The appearance of pores may become more of a concern when they develop a build-up of dead skin cells, sebum and dirt, which is a key indicator to step up, or introduce some ingredients with exfoliating benefits; (glycolic, mandelic, retinol, lactic acid), are some of my favourites. If the pore is open, the build up inside oxidises, which is what creates a blackhead. If the pore is sealed with a layer of keratin, the contents can appear white, and is called a whitehead, or a closed comedone. Other areas on the body, such as the chest and back, which often have higher numbers of sebaceous glands, may also manifest enlarged pores, particularly if there is congestion present.
I have battled with enlarged pores all through my teenage years and well into my adult life. Mine have been triggered by photodamage and adult acne, which means I am committed to an exfoliating regimen to refine and smooth my skin. This means that they are less visible-rather than invisible, which is realistic. I adapt this seasonally, and as often as I need to, depending on what life throws at me, as my skin will almost always reflect this. I do feel that the key is to keep things simple as many exfoliating ingredients are multi-tasking, so skin care regimens (in clinic & at-home) can be kept affordable, streamlined and effective.
Everything starts with a detailed analysis of the skin-without visualising properly what’s happening in the deeper layers of the skin, we can’t recommend the most suitable combination of ingredients, let alone accurately monitor progress.

]]>At Anna Baker Aesthetics, I am delighted to offer next generation body contouring with the Contour Master Slim (CMSlim). This is a non-invasive body contouring solution clinically proven to increase muscle and decrease fat. It is ideal for stomach, buttocks, arms and legs. High Intensity Electromagnetic Muscle Training (HI-EMT) stimulates the muscle with intense focused electromagnetic fields to strengthen, firm and sculpt the body without discomfort or downtime. Just one 30-minute treatment causes 30,000 targeted muscle contractions for the ultimate no sweat workout. HI-EMT is the medical technology that is used in aesthetic medicine, urology and gynaecology. It uses focused electro-magnetic fields with safe intensity levels. Electro-magnetic field pass non-invasively through the body and interacts with motor neurons which subsequently trigger muscle contractions. The exposure of muscles to these contractions leads to muscle strengthening and growth.
The treatment time takes 30 mins per area and over the course of 10-14 days (as the treatments progress), increased muscle tone and firmness can be noticeable within two-to-four weeks, but individual results vary. There is no downtime, but it is important to be aware that the CMSlim is designed to supplement a healthy & balanced lifestyle, which includes regular exercise.

]]>During summer months, skin is generally more hydrated as warm air holds moisture, and skin generally produces more oil to maintain the barrier and suppleness of skin. During winter, the sebaceous (oil producing) glands make less oil, which in combination with colder climate conditions, causes dryness, itching and inflammation, which can be far worse in a chronic skin condition.
Ensuring the skin barrier is well moisturised is so important, which all skins benefit from. There are many affordable home treatments that can alleviate the variety of symptoms that cold weather months can have on skin, and I have many years of experience in assessing and formulating bespoke skin journeys. There are a great many ingredients & affordable treatments which can have a hugely positive impact on skin & quality of life.
Some of my favourite brands & treatments which are available from Anna Baker Skin Clinic are Dermalux Tri-Wave MD, Clinisoothe, NEOSTRATA, Profhilo, Revision Skincare, Skinbetter Science & Skinade
Skin analysis prior to any treatment is absolutely key to really understand what’s going on beneath the skin’s surface-particularly that the naked eye can’t see. I use the Observ system which allows me to assess and make custom treatment plans
